Jorge Arbache has extensive experience in the areas of economy and international negotiations. He held public positions, including that of Secretary of International Affairs of the Ministry of Planning.
He led several relevant commissions, such as that of external financing and that of international organizations. He was the director or alternate director for Brazil on the board of directors of several multilateral banks and had a role in the development of Brazil's economic relations with China.
He is currently vice-president of the private sector at the Development Bank of Latin America - CAF, and professor of economics at the University of Brasília.
He served as an employee, among others, of the World Bank, International Labor Organization and BNDES. He has several articles and studies on commerce, technology, innovation, digital economics, service economics and international economics published in international academic journals and books.
He is a columnist for the newspaper Valor Econômico and writes occasionally for several international channels.
Jorge participates in the IDD on a personal basis.
